We recently considered the thoughts of Semper-Fi, always faithful, to the point of us being consistently reliable.  We have as the ultimate the exhibition and promises of God Who faithfully executes His will on earth as it is in heaven.  We also learn that we need to be an example of this same kind of faithfulness, full of faith that we, too, exhibit this same characteristic in all that we do and are.  Pleasing to Him, depended on by others.
Few of us will ever have to understand the degree of reliance of this warrior king who sang as a testimonial victor over his enemy, “I love You, O LORD, my strength.  You are my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, my God, my rock, in Whom I take refuge, my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my stronghold.  I call upon the LORD, Who is worthy to be praised, and I am saved from my enemies.”  The record of his battles has been preserved for our own use and understanding through his sweat, blood, tears, agony, hunger, sleeplessness and pain.  He trusted in Him Who is faithful to deliver, be it for physical or spiritual battles.
Father, we, too, can say, “I love You, O LORD, my strength.  You are my rock and my fortress and my deliverer, for Your faithfulness is new every morning.”  Lead us to trust You and Your faithful promises, to ”Hope in You, that we might, in the midst of our own turmoils, again praise You for are our rescue and our God.”
Faith, faithful, and faithfulness.  Make these yours now, even more that last year, as you draw nearer to the Source of life and living.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
