Can you imagine any other design for our feet?  Two feet and one step or one foot and two steps?  The intent is moving forward with our feet based on what we are learning, not two feet moving two steps back!
Jesus was quick to counter the culture right where He was; even saying, “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’” (Parenthetically, how did this become mainstream? It was not taught by Moses!) “But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you.” Like we so many times hear, “the Bible says,” and it does not, Jesus was ready to correct this misconception. Did this mean we are to condone or approve the actions of enemies? Certainly not! But to hate the enemy is not our role. There is no Biblical record that states “hate your enemy.” So He goes back to building on God’s intent: love and pray. Both feet.
Father, thank You for the purity of Your words; words that represent You and Your love for us. May You “rub off” on us, transforming us to Your likeness, even holiness as we walk with You through Christ.
This year you will entertain enemies and their schemes.  Counter your culture by following God’s thoughts; loving, living and praying from a point of His love and Jesus’ representation for you.  “Strive for peace witheveryone, and for the holiness,” which results only from being with Him:  Two feet, two steps.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
