With implies a togetherness, a support. In fact, a support that goes beyond our own innate capabilities.  That’s why our armed forces train and fight jointly, beyond each service of air, land, sea, space, and cyber.  That’s also why industry works hard to develop project teams. It’s about a greater result.
If we were to count the times Jesus uses this thought of with, it would turn out to be a truckload!  Listen: “Those whom I love, I reprove and discipline, so be zealous and repent (conform).”  Is that not what we individually must do?  This is not only for our groups, but also for our own betterment and good.  He continues with, “Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and eat with him, and he with Me.”  Now this is personal, an invitation to each of us.  It’s also a promise, that He will work in us, with us, for us, because of His love.
Interestingly, we learn from the Christmas script that Jesus was also named Emmanuel, meaning, God with us.  Here, this same Jesus, long after His resurrection, promises to engage with even you and me in this generation, just as He had prayed for us in this new year.  And not just with a single knock, but like a neighboring child knocking to say, “Can Johnny come out and play?”  Continually with.
Father, thank You for Your love, persistent and consistent.  Keep us focused in these times with You, learning to take on Your thinking, even to the conformance of and with Christ, in-Christ, never to be separated.
As God engaged with His people in another time and place, He spoke through His prophet, “For I know the plans I have for you, declares the LORD, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.” This He spoke to a nation that would become new again in years forward, a new hope in the midst of the despair of bondage.  With Him.  Claim the with’s.  Cling to them.  “If God be for you, who could be against you?” Don’t work against God, work with Him.

living w/god: Baptismal speech

I am Desire and this is my son Enrique Gianluca. Today, I am here to share with you how God has changed my life.

For a long time, I wondered why, why things were not happening the way I wanted them to happen, after all, I was working hard, I was providing, I was strong, and I trusted myself.  As I looked for answers, I turned to the world, but the world was not providing answers.  I found myself blind, hopeless, and disoriented, and I lost all perspective. In my desperation, I turned to Christ, and I asked Him to come into my life and free me from this burden and guide me to live for him.

It was not until God heard my request that I received answers. The day that He knocked on my door and I opened my heart to Him was the day I understood I inflicted this pain on myself because, for a long time, I trusted myself instead of trusting Him, I relied on myself when I should rely on His promise. Jesus said on Matthew 11: 28-29 “Come upon Me all you who are weary and burdened and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from Me. For I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your soul, and My yoke is easy, and my burden is light

When God came into my life, he offered me a new beginning, a new life, and I embraced it with open arms because for the very first time, I understood that I am not alone and I should not be afraid because everything is under His control, not mine, and so I trust Him, and today I declare Him as my savior, my refuge, and my strength.
